Lens Housing Attachment for Chinese Laser Modules

In my previous builds I have always stuck to the standard Aixiz modules for my diodes to sit in. But I wanted to throw together a fairly simple 532nm laser and it seemed like the easiest route to go would be to pick up one of these modules from DX.com which is on it's way now - 200mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
I know that the output probably won't be completely up to spec, but the reviews seemed decent enough so I figure that I should at least get a nicely visible green with a little burning capability.

The one thing though is that it doesn't appear to have any means of adjusting the focus. So this means that while it'll be nice for pointing out stars and such I'd never really be able to fully harness this laser's burning potential. But what I did notice is that the end of the module is threaded, so that made me wonder if anybody knows of some sort of attachment that could go on which could house an adjustable lens? Or is there any other way of achieving an adjustable focus from this module.

No, it's fixed focus and you cannot change it.

You can use an external magnifying glass or of sorts if you wanted to, though.

The threads on module are for mounting it in a pen-style host. Their silvery caps got threads on inside to hold the module in place.

You might be able to unscrew the front off the module and then use it with a focusing module on a host. Beware that it will also expose all the infrared that may be filtered out by the module optics (assuming there are any filters in the first place).

Ah I see, that would be ideal if possible... Would you imagine that it would be compatible with the focusing module and lens from an aixiz housing if it indeed can be removed?

I was thinking more of the focusable green laser hosts. I don't think the green laser modules will connect directly to an Aixiz module or its lens without some additional work.

That makes sense, do you think you could provide an example of what precisely you are thinking about so that I could be sure we're on the same page?

I'm talking about those focusable hosts you can buy on shop-sites like Lazerer.

If you're trying to attach an Aixiz module, they won't screw on to the front of a green module (or at least any I've found), and I don't know if the lenses in them would be correct for the output from a green.
