hello,

I bought IR blocking filter 25mm from optotronics.
link: Optotronics Product Details

I test this filter with 50mW green laser and black tape.
Laser burn tape without fiter and with filter too. Why?

My second test: I use remote TV controler and telephone
camcoder. I can see IR without filter and with filter too.

Is it safety for human eye?
How this filter work?
How can I test this filter?
What purpose this filter has?

Very thanks for your reply. Milan

You'd have to measure to know what's going on. It could be that the filter block very little IR, it could be that the camera's are very sensitive to IR or just very little IR to begin with. You have to have a way of measuring the power to determine if it's safe or if the filter works.

description of filter:
25mm square IR blocking filter
Absorbs approximately 85% of IR
between 800-1000nm wavelengths.

This filter shut absorbs 85% as you can see in description.
I do not have laser power meter - I can not test transmission.
Have somebody this filter?

Thanks for reply.
