OK so I'm still pretty new around here and just built my first laser. I've been doing alot of reading and as of recently I've seen alot of talk about these external lens springs. I've got a AixiZ glass lens on my build now and like most of you it has Teflon tape holding it tight. but of course that didn't last very long. so i wanted to try one of these out but didn't want to spend the $5-6 plus shipping to try it out so i make one my self. so i went to my local harbor Freight tools and pick up these (200 Piece Assorted Spring Set) $6.99 and of course used my 20% off coupon. in the kit it comes with 12- 3/8" X 3/4" spings as well as a bunch of other spings. so what i did was take those springs out and i clipped it down a bit and used a smaller marker of my kids to expand it to fit over the lens a bit better. then i took the dremel to it to smooth the top and bottom especially where i cut it. and last added a little petroleum oil on it to make it move a little easier. and i was quite impressed with the results over the Teflon tape. it hold the position alot better, and doesn't move unless you want it to. so that ends up making 12 springs for 6.99 which ends up being like .58 cents a peice.

Nice find! Only 2$ more than what others are selling external lens springs here for and you get 199 other springs with it :D

I wish we had harbour freight up North.

well actually you get enough springs to make like 15. so that leaves you with and extra 185.

Bumping this because it contains useful information! I have been trying to find external lens springs that won't cost me 19.99 plus shipping for 5 of them since I am not made of money. Thanks for sharing, I will be making a trip to Harbor Freight tomorrow :) +1!

Yeah they also have a nice set off o-rings that works perfect on the krypton groove focus adapter, and I always got there grommet set which has one size that fits perfect for holding the round driver down in place in the groove.
