Did a little doodling tonight...and some machining !! See pic of possible C-Lens arrangement for Wmacky three (3) holer ?? Looks like maybe u will need about 1.73" (43.94mm). Depends on how far out the collimation lens extends. This pic has the lens out .38" (9.65mm). I have a work-around if you do not have the length needed ! PM me!

Work'in on the TS/EZunit. Update soon....And

My shelf is about 1 5/8" in length. I might be able to push the module back into the head a little?

Hmmmm....Yes, see pic V2....we can "move the furniture around"... a little. But...I have a suspicion that the " Optic Gods " may have some further tricks up their sleeve's !!!....as in the minimal separation distance between the LD collimation lens and the first Plano concave cylindrical lens !!! On the DH P-73 unit....this distance was 25.3mm

I must experiment with the TS lenses. R U wanting to correct the 3.5W blue or the lower power 9mm blue ??

Thank you though...for this issue has re-directed my work....for I had forgotten that this distance metric needs to be determined....then....the adaptor can be machined to allow the optimal spacing !! Too much room is OK for the EZ....Too little....and the piece is a paper weight....and I have enough of those !!

Go for the 3.5W. Step into the big league

Beam correction for this diode would really be advantageous because the divergence is so bad to begin with. With such a good looking host it would be nice to have big power to match it.

OK...I say go for the NDB 7A75 LD...This one really needs " glasses " I do not have this diode so I cannot determine the optimal distance between the collimation lens and the first cylindrical lens. Mateusz, you tested this LD and got great results...What was the optimal distance between the collimation lens and the first optic ( Plano concave ) ??? And what was the optimal distance between the cylindrical lenses ???

I will be using the NDB 7875 LD (Standard 9mm) to do my testing. Thanx to Wmacky, I have taken a step back before I machine the next-gen EZ for use with the TS lenses. See the attached pic of a " Optics Test Bed " I am now working on. This set up will determine optimal separation distances between the glass and those metrics will then govern the dimensions of the EZ holder.

These things just take time. Pass the popcorn please, stay tuned for more "Fun with Optics"....and...

For the 3,5W the outer dimensions of lens pair is around 35 mm. So between lens is around 23 - 25mm.

The distance between collmator lens and cylindrical lens is not important. I was using them in far distance around 10cm as also in close distance around 5mm.

Actually last days I had to adjust 2 pairs and it went really smoothly. Around 15 minutes.

Mateusz, Thank you for the info. See attached revised drawing - V11 - based on Mateusz's metrics. No change other than increasing the lens to lens distance. Looks like the TS lenses will work with the existing length on the Wmacky "3 holer"...and will tame the NDB 7A75 " Bar Generator "

Since both Cylindrical's are 12mm wide, I would add two (2) 1/4" (6.35mm) Aluminum bar stock to provide a channel on the flat of the semi-circular extension. The cylindrical lenses will sit down into this channel. The fast axis of the NDB 7A75will need to be perpendicular to the extension flat ( just rotate the Aixiz module until the stripe goes up and down).

After the LD is radially adjusted to the correct orientation, Set the focus and add the cylindricals. When the optimal farfield beam is achieved, a few drops of clear epoxy to fix the lenses....and that's it !!

Note: The Planters video is excellent....and for projectors, spatial filtering is the way to go.....but...it add about 6" (152mm) to the optical train...Meh !!! Too long for me !!

Work progresses on the Test bed. Had to purchase a 9mm end mill bit to open up the seat area on the LSP diode mount to accept the 9mm LD. More " Fun with Optics ".....And...

Pass the popcorn....some progress pics on the TS optics test bed......Had to modify the standard LSP 5.6 LD mount to accept the 9mm 7875.

Now...nail down the mounts, hook up the juice...a little" twist and shout" with the LD to get the right orientation, a little danc'in around with the C-lenses....and we see what this TS glass can do !! :D And...

Well....These things always take a lot more time than I estimate !!! I have the components " nailed " down...but I have been busy with work....so that is all 4 now. See pic.

I will forge ahead this weekend !! :eg:

" Shrine " haha....yea...Considering the # of diodes I have punished into oblivion !!! " Shrine " is not the word....More like " Altar of Quantum Well Sacrafice "....that is an accurate description !!

Thanx for the support !!! Stay tuned....should be somewhat......entertaining...And...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !! " Dreams of Optics " Yikes.....Well, I know enough to know, I do not know squat !!! I read and try to understand. There are several on LPF that are really do know optics. I dream of knowing what they know !! I dream of understanding " ETENDUE "

I just happen to have the tools to bring to life what I think I understand !! Sometimes this works !! Sometimes not ! But...it is a fun ride !!!...and I like to share the ups and downs.....hopefully, some members find these post's worthwhile....And
