Beam combining cube

Does anyone know how to set up a beam combining cube, to mix RED & GREEN & get YELLOW ? A diagram would be most helpful, along with the approximate mW's needed of a RED LASER & a GREEN LASER. Thanks to anyone that can answer this question...........rob

You don't want a PBS (Polarized beam splitter (Used in reverse to combine lasers)), they are used to combine 2 lasers of the SAME wavelength. What you want is a pass green reflect red dichro. Mount the green laser shining through the dichro, and set up the red lser at about a 90 degree angle to the dichro, then just adjust the dichro until the beams are overlapped.

And if the mount involves green, you can use on of the PHR dichroic mirrors ..... not professional as a 98% pass one, but you can easily get 90 to 95% pass green, and almost the same for reflect red (or BR, cause it's a bandpass dichro :))

I've seen this done with cubes also, such as the one in a RHR-803T sled. How is THAT accomplished ? Thanks.......rob PS.Thanks for your help, buddy

Using the cube in the PHR sled would be very inefficient, as they are not designed for green.

The cube in the PHR sled can be used to combine 405 and 650, and the dichro to add in 532 - effectively that sled contains everything you need for RGV combination, albeit not at state of the art efficiency.

There are some '7 color' designs around the forum with diagrams of how its exactly lined up.

..there are those dichroic cubes from projectors too. shine red, green, blue (br) in one of each sides, have them combined on the fourth side. quite effective too! these cubes are quite large though, minimum of one inch, 3cm a side, up to maybe double of that.. beautiful too! :)

So $45 for those two optics from Lasever, shipped to the US?

Not bad, but it's still annoying to have to mail them to find out about prices. Hamamatsu lists items all the way up to €45.000 (about $60.000 or so) on their webpage, so I always know whether I am wasting my time or not when considering whether an item might fit my budget with them. When prices aren't listed, I generally leave the site to browse elsewhere for what I'm thinking about.

I think they dont have their prices on the website is because they are going down and sometimes up quite often. David Wu is very good are responding quickly tho--- BTW Lasever.com is coming out with a BR dichro very soon. Check out the webstore and the youtube videos as well. They offer a 80 mW blue that , in the vid anyway, puts out over 100mWs and has a 3 minute on - then 5 min off duty/rest cycle.--good luck--hak
