Any Idea how the internals look in this?

I came across this combiner for diodes. Its setup to hold 4 diodes and looks like a nice little unit. Anybody have an idea how the inside may be setup?

I am also looking for some c-mount setup pics for any DPSS applications. I have a few ideas and have mocked up a mount and heatsink for the crystals. But still need an idea of what the industry standard setups look like.

Thanks. :)

LOL, they neglect to show the best parts :( Cant say I blame them. I am curious of the arragement of the diodes and if optics are used. Some fiber setups ive seen and tried are simple and dont require any optics, but make it difficult to combine without producing seperate dots.

If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it.

lol. That comment works some of the time.

But in this case this box thing would only be a few hundred at the most. And that's quite affordable :) We just want to see the price, not to find out if we CAN purchase it, but if it's WORTH it :)

So... has anyone asked yet?

This is what i thinks inside. 3 semi mirrors

but where are the lenses to focus the beams? I think its a little more complex than this...

They're probably in front of each diode ::)

if you had semi reflective mirrors you'd be losing most of your power since there's no magic mirror that reflects light from the front but passes it from the rear

It probably uses dichroics and polarized beam combiners (doh) , but we don't know what kind of 4 diodes it's supposed to combine to tell for sure how it's built (or do we? cause I haven't really checked the link)

Time to combine 4 open can reds [smiley=evil.gif][smiley=evil.gif][smiley=evil.gif]

Or maybe even 4 PHRs....

Or maybe even 2 open cans and 2 PHRs

Or maybe 3 open cans and 1 PHR

Or maybe 3 PHRs and 1 open can...

The possibilities are endless!! Well... not really...

Nah, it says that there should be at least 2 different types of diodes.2 open cans and 2 phr's is the best option :D

But then the beam specs will be bad :'(

If you're looking for good beam specs , I don't think combination is your best bet ::)
