Finally my fledgling laser company is starting up.. I've had a few good gigs, but nothing of this caliber yet. It was an incredible time!

Excuse the fact that this is a group of short vids I combined into one.. My photographer (my wife) didn't want to watch the show through the camera so the clips were short. Click the pic below!

Projectors are:

1.2W RGB in the large circle truss above (controlled by FB3) and 1.6W 532nm on stage below the drums (controlled by LFI player/sound card DAC). The 1.6W system was dialed back to around 700mW for this show.

Did you do the stage lighting as well?

Man, I can't wait to get into a projector.

thank you sir!

No I wasn't responsible for the moving heads etc.. Just lasers for me. Our local Pink Floyd tribute (who happen to be AWESOME) never hold back on show production. Lighting and sound were done by the top two midwest companies.

lighting was primarily Martin moving head spots and washes (30 in total), with a few strobes and other effects. You can see the 52" and 32" LCDs.

Sound systems were two-fold: EV array and a Turbosound Flex array with Turbosound wall of bass at the front of the stage. Sounded incredible.

Thank you! To be fair though, it's not just me. There are several of us involved in it.. I've teamed up with a good friend and one of his associates who runs lighting company, and the projectors here are a pair that we've refurbished that used to be in an old nightclub. I designed and choreographed the show though. The lasers were on for only a few minutes throughout the concert.

The Pageant is a great venue. Let me know the next time you do a classic rock show, I'll try to come see it.

Seemed to be doing wonderfully! The concert series was a stellar success.. and being my first time seeing them it was mind-blowing for me. The Aussie Floyd Show has nothing on them..

Seemed pretty angry at whatever laser show co. they hired last.. not good whatever happened. Incredible opportunity for us though.

There were at least two laser companies before the gig I did, and at least one after me, but before you.

The band was happy with my work, I got invited out for a curtain call after show two and was asked if I wanted to play the console on stage, live, for the third show.

Only it was not supposed to be my gig at all. I was hired on short notice to repair a problem. I'll PM you with the details.

Wow, nice effort by you and your crew EF! Very nice placement of the projectors. It looks like every square foot is covered by one beam or another. :)

Thank you millirad!

I was called with much less notice than I would have liked prior to the show.. the one thing that would have made for better fill would have been a few mirrors carefully placed around the room, but we didn't have time to get mirrors, or plan and lay a system like that out before the show. It ended up looking better than I thought it would as far as room fill though..

Nice Steve! They are good guys.. I've heard lots of good things about their past shows (for the most part anyway) so I had a feeling we had some big shoes to fill.

Very Cool Pat There is nothing like the cheer of hundreds or thousands of people when
they see your work to make your heart do a double beat, I rember my days of stage
pyro very fondly it was many fun years of great satisfaction :)
So I know what you must have felt that night and theres nothing else like it :D

tnx Flecom and Dinas!

We currently don't have any more classic rock shows on our calendar as we're very early on in our collective careers as laserists. With any luck we'll do another show next year for El Monstero, but it'll be awhile before that gets booked.

Flecom, you're telling me there aren't a plethora of WAYY bigger events in Miami just begging for one of the nicest 5W rigs around? IDK.. I can't believe that. I've been to Ultra and a few different clubs in Miami several times and from what I've seen Miami does it BIG in general. Bigger than little old STL for sure..
