It would be a fun road trip though.... if I had more vacation time I would probably do it, but I'm saving up to take a week off at Christmas time
Hey! Whereabouts in WA state are you? I'm in BC just north of you, and travel down into Washington fairly often. :)

I'm in Marysville, just about 45 minutes from the border and about 35-40 minutes north of seattle [/quote]

Neat! I go down to the Seattle Premium Outlet center sometimes. I'm also going to have to be going down to Arlington in December to contest a speeding ticket. :(

I'll have to let you know sometime when I'm heading down and maybe you can shoot your lasers into the air so that I can actually see some blue laser :D

All I know about 3 phase is that instead of having just one live wire, it has two.

It has two live wires, one earth and one neutral.

All three are live ie. have a voltage differential to ground.

3 phase here has 5 wires, 3 live and 1 neutral, and one ground.

EDIT: I guess you guys have like 208V 3 phase?

Our 3 phase is 415, so yeah ...

Not always. The ground and/or neutral are sometimes omitted. Often it's just the three lines and a ground (for safety, no current passes through this conductor under normal operation) as the voltage differential is between the phases rather than to ground. So it's not at all uncommon to find just three conductors. It's akin to having just two conductors in your lamp cord.

Oh I thought it was 4 wires ... my bad !

It's 440V 3 phase we usually have in the UK I think.
