It's definitely 593.5nm. Either that, or my diffraction grating is a liar. :beer:


Hey Sta, did you end up getting it spectro'd before and after the shift? Also, did you test to see any sort of power drop/increase between the shifting?

I haven't got it spectro'd yet, I'm waiting for my 593.5nm pen to arrive. If they don't look identical (and diffract identically) I'll send it off to be measured.
About power: when chilled, it starts in 589nm, about 60mW, then rises up to 100mW. Shortly after it reaches 100mW it shifts to 593.5nm and gets up to 150-160mW.

Cool, that should be a good comparison. I'd still go for getting it spectro'd though, having an accurate wavelength emission reading is great to have especially with DPSS, and if you're not getting charged than that's just a steal :D. And, it'd be neat if it turns out being some in-between wavelength.
