Well as long as we can prove ourselves responsible there should be no issue with government agents probing around on here...

Yes, I too am worried about the scrutiny SP's videos are bringing by the shotty online media sources. As soon as this $hi1 hits CNN, we better all bolt down our hosts to lab mounts...

Wow, this video has gotten a lot of publicity.

As usual, I have pushed laser safety and explained the legality behind this in my video descriptions. Discovery even quotes me on that.

Either way, I don't see this being any danger to the laser hobby. I used it responsibly and promoted safety. My videos have gotten many views over the years without problems and I know I have brought many people to this hobby and to this forum.

If anybody has suggestions of things I should add to the description of the video, let me know. I have already added links to laser goggles!

Drake, I think you did a good job of being responsible and commend you for advocating safety. My only point was that I am afraid that less than credible media sources may try to cause a sensational story with it, which will ultimately lead to harsher legislation with regards to our hobby. The blame would lie entirely with the media, certainly not yourself.

I make videos too. Not of the quality of yours and certainly without the virility. I'm quite glad it's your video grabbing the attention and not Kipkay's bull$h1t.

We can promote responsible use and safety all we want, but there's this thing called "media spin". they will cast anything in a bad light if their masters tell them to. I can imagine it now.

Here's the headline:

"internet forum provides dangerous weapons to any and all"

I think it's a cool video, makes me excited for the copper dominator build from Blord I have on the way, but it can attract unwanted attention. I can't really think of any action we could take to stop any ban attempt, it's not like there is an NRA for lasers, and the constitution doesn't mention them.

Just keep responsible and safe, admonish those who don't and hope for the best

Hmmm. N.L.A. anyone? Are any member's lawyers? can we get a constitutional amendment proposed?
