[smiley=dankk2.gif] Just imagine that on a foggy night high up on a pole out on a field... more then breathtaking.

Oh yea! I bet that if you could get some powerfull lasers like 400-500mW and some bigger motors and put it on a tall pole, people would think that an alien spaceship is landing ;D

what type of motors were you using. and with all those spinning parts it must be dificult to get the power to the leds.

btw it is soooo cool.

Just some standard DC motors. Yes, to power the leds and top motor was a challenge but I made it and it works great :D

I'll added one more vid with only the green led. This shows more clearly some of the patterns that the laser will make.

That's amazing, I think it would sell on thinkgeek (I'd buy one). You could probably set up a Pic microprocessor and a stepper motor to control it and draw images in the air. :)

The problem is that i can't find some small stepper motors with long driveshafts :-/ I have a bunch of those that you find in cd/dvd rails but the shaft kinda "collapse" when i take them out   Life's tuff sometimes  ::)

Are you planning on putting red, green and blue lasers in there when you make the laser version?

Probably not full colour, the blue ones is too expensive. It will be a green one at ~100-200mw perhaps.
