Let's do it, 5,000 beams in the sky. Who's with me?!?

I'm with you. it would look amazing 'if' we could organise it, and possibly show the hobby in a better light [no pun intended] to world media.

Well 445s have terrible divergence, greens would be ideal. Very visible, reasonable power for cheap and wonderful divergence.

Yeah you're probably right, I was just thinking for raw power. lots of powerful greens then.

Uhm, that was done with low powered red pointers in 2001, right ?

I'm just wondering how it can look, now, if all the ones with big greens and over 1 W 445nm lasers do the same ..... :eg: :eg: :eg:

Needs beam expanders, too :p

That's what I'm sayin man, let's get it set up. There has to be some possible way to get it done. The airport I fly at has almost a mile long runway. At night nobody is flying there, we could easily get 1,000+ people on the runway pointing in the sky, and I could sit on the radios making sure no planes within miles!

I thought, "Why do are there grains of sand sparkling so brightly?"

And then I realized those weren't grains of sand.

See, I thought that was just very grainy sparkly sand too at first, then it's "oh crap, thems people!"

It'd be cool if you could build a tripod mount that would hold all 3 and maybe even make the beams cross or something. :) And at least you can get away with that in Brazil! I think if we did that here in the US we'd have a swat team kicking down our door.

at that distance, would you be concerned at all about harming others' vision? or even your own (when that person shone back) ? I know you kept your lasers away from the people. :)

Great video, Good job on not hitting the police boat with the laser
I also wish I was there it's 36 deg outside here right now.
Wonderfull view from where you were, It looked like there was a concert going
on :) and I'm betting there was more than one person down there with a green !
+2 for a cool video ;)

Class IV red lasers ARE THE SHIT!!!

445's and 532's are common place nowadays, having a handheld 635 with that kind of power is almost EVIL...I want one!:bowdown:

Haha you're just a couple hours away from me! I'd totally be in if it was some time this summer. We could do shots of just 405s, 445s, 532s, and all the reds by themselves, then do one last picture/video with all colors. That would be sweet.
We could fill the area with fog, then write with the laser beams too. We could spell LPF with different colored beams.
