I am gonna go ahead and take that advice. It would suck to lose an 8x even if it would give me an excuse to get a 12x.

Glutton, I tried my IgorT 6x for awhile on my M4 but the dot is just too large at anything over 50 yds so I went back to my green with a tighter beam. Have you shot your rifle with that 8x in the dark yet? Let me know how it works for you. MR

you can always throw the 8x back in there once the zombies attack id say you have about 1037 days(dec.26.2012) but hopefully you can get a 100x by then and just destroy them with 20Watts of blu-ray and have no need for bullets

With the EOtech I don't really need the laser for aiming purposes. I could probably use it for short distance quick shots on zombies, but it is mainly for blinding purposes like when I need to reload.

I'm no scientist but I am pretty sure zombies can smell you even if they are blind, but hopefully it will buy me some time.

I'm pretty sure the only zombies you will ever encounter will be the ones from the hood looking to seperate you from what you hold dear if this experiment in democracy ever goes bad. In the meanwhile train with your weapon in some real world scenarios. MR

Yeah I got a few army/marine buddies that I shoot with, they have good advice.

But deep down everyone is born with a natural fear of zombies, it's simple psychology 101. Some day it will happen, and if you don't know what to do your toast. For instance, You can't hit a zombie with a flame thrower like in the movies, cause in real life you now have a flaming zombie coming after you (they taught me that).

Be prepared

Sweet! Ive heard that for some reason 405 is especially disorienting when you get it in the eye, probably because of our inability to focus on it. it should be great for zombies, and/or more realistic criminals.... and there's nothing wrong with plastic on a gun IMO, there's a reason glocks are some of the best pistols around.

IIRC the reason why blu-ray is so disorienting is becuase it makes something in your eyes fluoresce. not completly sure about that though

did some research, it seems this too is correct. They are working on a long range "dazzler" device with 405nm because it fluoresces eyes.

I remember DieselMarine said he stunned someone who was about to attack him with his unfocused 8x (or maybe it was lower powered?).
