Alaskan villages are not pretty, no one throws anything away, most yards around peoples houses are junk yards.... so much for the pretty picture the media makes for natives up here :p

I can't speak for much, cause I'm not colour blind as Joey is, but I have a best mate who is so I've learned about it. The simplest way I can describe it is, for example, two squares of different colours that non-colourblind people see as different can look like two squares of the same colour. This is usually the case.

OK that helps alot, so its not the ignorant way of thinking that they see yellow when its actually blue(example) Its weird I knew a few people that claimed to be but couldnt explain wether it was embarasment or just didnt know how to?

The wildfires up here are terrible this year. Resources are stretched so thin that we have crews coming in from as far as Australia.

If fire does break out in my neck of the woods who knows how long it might take to get a response, so I built a "poor man's" fire truck.

Wildfires sure do seem bad down there, we're gettin some of yer smoke all the way up here! You know it's bad when people are coming from Australia to combat forest/bush fires. And quite the fire truck you have yourself there. Clever. Like they say; "If it looks stupid, but it works, it ain't stupid."
Best of luck in your efforts.

XD finally a conversation i can help with. Its not like that although technically there is no proof that what you see as blue i might see as what you would call red, thats not what affects us though. Basically i dont have enough red cone cells in my eyes so when for example my teachers type with red titles and then black paragraphs i see all black. Another good example is when something is purple (as in red and blue) unless it is VERY purple, i dont see a difference between it and blue, ill hust say its blue. Im not actually color "blind" as thats very rare, its more color deficiency.

Glad to see I got it somewhat right. People with regular vision can distinguish different colours that some colourblind people can't. Sorta.

Yeah, the worst part is the retarded "what color is that" questions i get everytime someone catches word of it... i imagine its a lot worse for fully colorblind people though, im not sure if anyone else on this forum is colorblind but if anyone is feel free to chip in ;P

OK im getting an alot better idea. Ive heard of it all my life but never came this close. I have to go back and read it over a few more times I have wicked ADD. Its kind of mind boggling though that the color we might see isnt what it is or others see it different. So when you see a red title and a black paragraph is it because they are so close and the lack of red cones in your eyes make it blend in. In your case is it safe to say you see purple less or more than I do. Gabe, you gave a good explination. What would you say fully colorblind is?

Well, that would be a lack of all colours, where everything is the same shade. Seeing in black and white, or monochrome, if you will. There is a man who was born fully colourblind, and sees in monochrome. He had an antenna surgically attached into his brain that extends out to over his forehead. It converts colour into sound for him,me here red gives a different tone than blue, so he can essentially hear colours. I think he's the first government-recognized cyborg too.
