If it's any consolation Britain has been having a lot of fluctuation too. March was the coldest on record, April saw the hottest April day and a mini heatwave, and then it suddenly got colder and snowed again up north. And now we've just had the hottest May bank holiday weekend with another heatwave. It will be cold next week with snow most probably. :p
That's quite a few weather records smashed this year already.
Everything seems highly unstable this year in the northern hemisphere. What on Earth is June going to bring?

I have seen many boulders left over from the retreat of glacial ice during the last Ice Age. Have seen some very large ones over the years. I imagine they were like grains of sand to the retreating ice. Pretty fascinating stuff considering how some were left to balance precariously for millennia.

Nice landscape, Tero. It looks like you are close to the arctic circle as there are some trees, but also much grass and scrub land too.

That is a great wide angle shot of Jupiter, Tero. I love it. Most I get to see is Venus from my front porch. I'd rep you, but I did so earlier today.

Nice one Tero.
Jupiter is awesome to view through a telescope or binoculars and it's largest moons are visible too.
Thanks for posting mate.

I wonder why they bothered adding the Cr+3 ions to the crystal as it makes it red, but doesn't make it harder. Maybe it is just cheaper to buy the rubies made for jewelry. I'm pretty sure they are cut on a faceting wheel. Looks like a perfect 45* angle.

Yes, I'm sure they went with what's commercially available that meets the hardness requirements, it is pretty.
