I heard today that Europe could be expecting beast from the east 3 and 4. At this rate there will be no spring. :p

I feel for you guys, but I did my time in a deep freezer when I was younger. So, I paid my dues. :p

Lol, yes you've done your time. :p
I feel for Tero and Adam at the moment. They are consistently cold. At least for me this isn't a regular occurrence. It's the worst winter/spring we've had for a long time, so can't really complain. One thing for sure. Wild and unpredictable weather is becoming more regular and widespread. I've noticed a large difference in Britain over the past 5 years. I guessing you and others here would agree for yourselves too.

As global temperatures continue to rise, I'm sure we will see more of these weather extremes. I'm glad I won't be around in 50 years as it could be catastrophic by then.

Great, I have a chance of still being around by then. :yabbem:
But true.

ArcticDude, looks like some of your weather moved over our way. Didn't think we'd be getting our usual pre-spring freeze this year, but here we are. Not sure how it is over there, but here we usually get to the low negatives/low positives and some thawing action for a couple weeks and then we get another couple weeks of -15C to -25C before spring finally kicks in for real. Came early this year, still got the cold spell though.

I don't miss that at all. I have been there. Shoveling snow, sweeping it off my car, starting my car at least 15 minutes before going anywhere. It is chilly here, but only 36* F at night.

Yeah, it looks we're having never ending winter atm.. :can:

Weird temperature swings in parts of the Arctic if the news on Reddit is anything to go by. Was still a good 20-30 degrees below freezing here when that was happening though.

More snow is good news to be fair, we haven't been getting enough here the last 4-5 years. Makes for some real dry summers, low water levels, more forest fires etc.

Seems that we're heading to Mini-Ice age till 2030
Recommend to read some of Henrik Svensmark's articles, - I may need to get flight ticket to Dundee land... Brrr

Apologies Adam and Tero, but it’s Western Europe’s fault for why you and I are receiving these conditions. :na: We had stratospheric warming causing us to have unseasonal temperatures but has since disrupted the jet stream. The jet stream would usually be strong enough to keep the Siberian air to the very east but now it’s able to push further west. As previously seen weather you usually get over the other side of the pond, we usually get a milder front 3-5 days later. It’s reversed, you get what Europe gets on top of your usual weather. And poor Tero just gets to stay colder for longer. As for your video/gif we’ve seen that here too Adam. :(

It’s milder here again now, until we get hit again. But this fluctuation of temperatures over Western Europe is only going to keep the jetstream unstable. It could be a long time for things to go back to normal.

Really, but then again. Your location. Is that out of the norm for this time of year for you?

Not unheard of, just annoying. It was +18C and sunny on Sunday!

Sun is coming back out and most of it has melted now, here's hoping that's the last of it!

As far as I recall from reading weather records we've had snow in early June before, although only a couple of times since records began.
