addFor the first batch of pics in this upload, I used one diffraction grating (fan of matrix) suspended 10" hign and 4 or 5 lasers going through the grating at different angles giving a nice result of the meshing of colors. The first pic is my set up, I just changed out different lasers.

The second batch was using a glass of water with two different crystals suspended, plus mirrors and prisms. The last 5 pics are variations of the same shot, adding or subtracting a laser and at different focal lengths. Some decent pics. Enjoy

Excellent gallery! Like the way how you revealed, i.e. briefly described and depicted your initial photo-shooting set-up:).

I love the centre focused diffraction glass beaming shots, simply astonishing. Crystal inserted in the glass brings up phenomenal pics as well. Possibilities are literally limitless, different angle, glass-made objects movements and laser positions offer so much, let the creativity step in.

I loved seeing how you set up for your shots...so simple, but the results are so awesome! +1 as always, and thanks for the eye candy! :)

Thanks to everyone!

Skews- that looks like some type is quartz, is that correct?. I am assuming that is a 405nm illuminating it. It certainly is a nice effect. If so I should look into acquiring some. Thinking about it, quartz may be interesting to purchase and illuminate

Nik029-Go Roosters!

Gismo- Next week I think I may try to have 4 or 5 lasers on the same plane going thru the grating on the same horizontal angle. That will keep all of diffractions on the same level, but they colors will be separated ( I think) Maybe try to get a rainbow effect , but with multiple beams. Won't know until I try it. I will have to build a stand to accommodate my needs. A thin piece of wood about 1/4 to 1/2" high by about 4 feet long x 8 inches wide, then inserting screws, washers, and nuts to hold the clamps (which I already have). Then tilt the whole stand to go thru the grating which will be 10 inches off the table. Off to Home Depot tomorrow (do they have them in Ireland) to buy the stuff and then assemble it for next weekend. A big thanks again for your encouragement!

Yeah for sure. i think its actually a type of gypsum, it is soft as a fingernail (more brittle though). its a 445 illuminating it as well. I don't need it if you wanna work something out. if your interested in getting one though it is called "satin spar" a fibrous form of gypsum, it has incredible fiber optic attributes.

There's no better satisfaction when you make a complete set-up from a scratch yourself. Once it gives you results you can be happy with, that's your win situation there:). In Ireland we have DIY centres alright (one directly in the town I live in), but are quite expensive:(. But then again, I'd be too lazy to go that deep to create something specific by my own:eek:.

I know you'll keep all of us - who respect and admire your dedication to laser beam art - posted about your outcome when you feel it's ready to be published!

Man, I'd rep you instantly, system won't let me, you're so productive:D But it's a good thing to show the ones who watch, that the fascination by (and with) laser power lies in the colourful perception, introduced in a photographic way you've mastered very well by now.

Looking forward for your magic:beer:.
