Ok this is what I have setup so far. I have a 80mm Blue LED fan with the heatsink that came with it. This thing is a beast. I am also using one of Pseudo's TEC modules. Thank you by the way Carter. ;). All I have left to do is find something to house my aixiz module in. Well let me know what you guys think. Hey for those that have already setup TEC cooled laser diodes, mind putting up some pics of your setup. Thanks.

I just ordered 5 of those coolers from an ebay auction...total with shipping was $17.00. Mike...how much voltage to you need to run into yours to keep the module cool???

I would think 12 volts is WAY TOO much. on mine a water drop takes only seconds to freeze. I am going to try 3.3 volts.

Well the ones I ordered are made to run on 5 - 12 volts. I would like to know how cool yours gets on 3.3 volts. Thanks DA.
Yours does look cool (no pun intended)... :D

Gazoo like I said if I run it at 12 volts, it draws about 4 amps and I can freeze a drop of water almost instantly ;D. I think 3.3 volts is plenty to keep the diode cool enough. I just am having a hard time figuring out what to use to house the aixiz in to put on top of my TEC. Any suggestions? I have tried Home Depot for a block of aluminum. No go. :(. So I have no idea what to put it in. :-?

Some kind of collar like Mike has on his would work..it's the easiest solution I can think of. Or a shaft collar might work..you could file it so there is a flat spot to epoxy it to the peltier.

I run my TEC at about 0.5 amps to keep it about room temperature.
Volts ?? Around 5 volts max but current controled by an L200.

Yeah Mike's does look nice. Maybe I will go to the hardware store and tinker with some copper plumbing parts.

if you have a metal recycleing place in your town you might find something there. the one here has every thing from brass /copper / aluminum ect might be worth a trip.

Thanks Mike...I will think about how to run it and the diode from the same power supply. I might still be able to use 2 Lm317's to regulate current.

The story with TECs is the same as it is with LD's. Control the current but not the voltage. The voltage should be constant at what the TEC is rated at, that will give you the best efficiency. Varying the current will give you a variable temperate delta :)

With that said... here is my setup that I used for the Phazor diodes...

OK... so I went over to the Phazor thread to find that I didn't post them online yet!

So... here is one of them I guess... :)

Daedal very nice setup you have there. ;). I am having trouble though finding something to put the axiz into and be able to stick it to the TEC. Any suggestions? Thanks.

just grab a washer or something with a hole in it the size of the aixiz module and stick it in! or if you have access to machinery, make it! it is very simple!
