that's awesome. So how do you like your new lathe?

I New you would like this One.

I Love it. Its alot of fun. Iam getting into boring now. With an Actual Boring bar.

Its just tough to find the correct size for my lathe. 5/16...

So Iam going to get the quick change tool post so i can use larger shanks and stuff.

Iam slow now. Takes me ~1 1/2 hours to make 1 heatsink as iam still gathering up all the correct tools and careful.

But its really fun. I try to go on it everyday.

But even the 7x12 is a tight space.

But iam getting use to it now slowly.

hehe, i wish i had those 2 extra inches :( i'm on 7x10

I just got new 5/16 bits today, and also bought some HSS blanks to try and grind my own bits.
I want to figure out how to grind my own cutting bits.

Thats Pretty Kool. Grinding your own cutting bits. I dint know you can do this.

LOL. I still dont know where to get 5/16 bits.:cryyy:

All i know are those red ones that seem to work pretty good. but they are verity packs so you only get 5 diffrent shanks inside.

Am I lucky or what? The lathe I get to work on is frakkin' huge! I have no idea the size, but it's an industrial size one :p

I could not afford anything larger then the 7x12.

I think that although a little small, it is still large enough for what a Laser Hobbies will do with it. Heatsink,Host's etc.....

Its just that stuff gets in the way only when you are drilling the heatsink Hole for the Aixiz module. Every thing else is not a Problem.

But even when drilling the hole. All i have to do is move the tool post back and towards the Chuck and Remove the Tool Post part that holds the shanks for more room if i want.

Thanks.:)

Zero training or Use Prior to getting this lathe a few weeks. ago. Well I did use a lathe 2 or 3 times when i was in High school several years back. But it was only for a few minutes so i dont think it counts.

Other then the Help i got from Lathe owners on the forum iam Brand New to this.

This is why iam having trouble finding parts and what not.

Very cool  The best way to learn machine work is with experience, which means turning a little bit of metal ;) I think if you run into any hitches there should be excess of lathe knowledge on the forum :D (myself included)
