Is that host stainless or just REALLY nicely finished aluminum? It looks like stainless but that could be the lighting. Also how does it feel weight-wise? I'm thinking about throwing together a 1W@445 in stainless.

Is that the 6W laser you posted on YouTube? You never posted the specs so I can't tell.

Nice build it's a good looking laser but where are the pictures of your work  I want to see inside, did you forget to take pictures of the assembly

The comparison makes the 450 look almost red or is that your camera ?

BEAUTIFUl colour! This has just pushed me over the edge in getting one of these diodes.. I wonder if i could push it to 2.1? I may get two just in case :)

No, this is not that laser. That laser is an NDB7A75 diode at 445nm/4A. This is at 462nm/2A.

Also, I don't understand why people just don't read? it's really quite simple?

I am pushing mine to 2.4A for 469nm. At 2.1A you should be getting like 466nm or so. I think 2.1A would be fine.

I have had a few people get them with a 2.4A driver. No problems reported yet but I have asked them to keep me up if they end up with any issues.

Holy freaking crap balls! That's insane! And just think.. As little as a year ago people were still paying $300+ for a 5mW 473nm... We have come so far..

I'm considering taking apart my build, and adding the extra 200mA (and then re-spectroing).

DTR, do you know off hand where the traditional 9mm blues die? Is it a hard wall at 2.4, 2.5? Or is it a soft drop in efficiency after that point, with a death much higher?

@Styropyro. Iv been watching your YouTube videos since video 1. Fantastic builds all of them. With this build, you have made the laser iv dreamed about lol iv been waiting for the day this wavelength would be in laser form. Hopefully the price on the diode drops soon because i want it !!!. im so jealous of you its not even funny especially when you got those 476nm aqua engineering samples.

So 2.4 amps is still somewhat within reason. Somewhat. That's pretty relieving. I was worried I might toast mine when I first turn it on

I wonder if these could hit over 473nm.....

Knowing that 2.4 is still safe, I can't help but wonder what these would do at 2.6.... 2.8..... 473 seems at least plausible.
