Inspired by Lazed's thread on his 3D lasers :). Just a quick something I started in Autodesk Inventor to kill some time. I don't have a name for it yet so for now it is simply called the "prototype". I am not sure as to how practical this would be, so any suggestions to keep it MORE practical would be helpful. And keep in mind this is a work in progress :).

I should explain this model a little bit. This model would feature a heat sensitive on/off pad, so no more worrying about it going off while you have it in your pocket or bag ect. It also has a rubberized grip for holding comfort and to stop it from rolling away.

TO DO LIST:
+ Add some kind of rail on the bottom to attach a stand. Something similar to a weaver rail on rifles/pistols.
+SHORTER!!

Shorter? Looks fine! I like the chrome finish. It might get hot in your bag or pocket, so I don't know about the heat pad. Makes for a sleek design though. I also like the idea of making it easy to mount. Any plans to make a (maybe simplified) version of this a reality?

I work in a machine shop, so I would LOVE to see this actually come together :D. Simplified of course.

Well, the heat pad is the hardest part I guess, so if you replaced it with a button it would be easier. :p The fancy endcap might be hard to machine. And I don't know how you would go about the rubberized grip, I have no idea.

in my opinion you should replace the heat sensetive pad with a SLIDE on and off switch. it would still be sleek!

Like the same switch on the SanDisk USB I have.

It's a sweet design. :D But why does the farther end appear bigger in the renderer? :-/
