Hey guys,

After waiting and waiting to buy one, I finally bought a fog machine! As everyone knows, this is a necessity for easy, awesome looking beamshots and especially “lightsabers” ;D. I got the Eliminator EF400 Fog Machine. It runs at 400 watts and puts out 1500 cubic feet of fog per minute. I got it for only $30 straight off of the website (it was marked down from like $90 or $100 I think)! As soon as it arrived within two days of placing the order, I fired `er up and filled up my dorm-room with smoke. Here are my first fog pictures!

BTW, the lasers are a BudgetGadget Keychain 532nm "50mW" pointer and a Project-Box-Hosted SF-AW210 405nm diode at 280mA with an Aixiz Acrylic Lens

Fog machines are great fun arn't they? :)

I got a 700 watt with a litre of fuild 2500 cubic feet per minute for 70 USD.

BTW, I think that your camera capture gets the blueray beam very nicely!

Nice. I saw some 1000 watt machines and higher on the site but the one that I bought was the cheapest. I think the next one up was like $50. And about my camera, thanks! It is an old "Canon PowerShot A550" point-and-shoot 7.1 megapixel digicam. Sorta beat up now and kinda' outdated, but camera ability is ranked in a completely different field when it comes to capturing 405nm light.

Your face is so funny you look like your thinking, "this wasn't as much fun as they made it look in starwars..." ;D

That deserves a big LOL. But you're kinda' right: I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't cutting through my dresser or my room mate with the laser beam ;D. No, but really, I had the time of my life.

Really nice pictures! :cool:

Thanks! BTW, I am soon going to start building an RGV laser, and I think I would like to talk to you a bit about it (I saw your awesome thread with your "Huge Fuckin' Laser" lol). I'll drop you a PM when I can.

No problem, you're not the only one who's making one. ;)

Haha... not surprising... I think that it is pretty much every LPF member's dream to own a 7 color laser...

Me? Nah, lol, I think I’m quite different than the rest of the crowd. Actually, what originally got me very into lasers (after I was fascinated by KipKay’s “Build-A-Blu-Ray-Laser video lol) was Rog8811’s “Seven Color Laser Optics” thread on Instructables.com! I asked him about 5 million questions regarding lasers and finally I think he got tired of me and pointed me here to LPF. Until a little while ago, I thought that Rog, me, and the people who read his Instructable were the only people who knew about a “7 colored laser”. Then I saw people like FireMyLaser on here hehehe.

Regarding blondes and Harleys, I’m not that much into motorcycles, but Blondes I can do with. ;)

Oh it's so much more that just seven colours!
This I know… I actually have a plan to make a “control-panel”-like thing with the on/off switches for the lasers and multiple-turn-POTs to adjust the intensity of each color. This of course would require removing the driver on the green module and building all of my own drivers (probably DDL) so that I can have wires coming off for the separate location of the POTs, but it would be worth it. This would give me THOUSANDS of different color options.

I was even dreaming of adding a touchscreen with a color-wheel or something similar on it and just placing my finger on whatever color I desire, but this would take so much money, skill, time, and computer programming (about which I have no idea) to do. Just dreaming again…

you are a nerd
j/k

Haha if you are referring to the nerdy dress-clothes I am wearing, I just got out of school (private school with a dress code :() But I won’t deny it ;D.

looks awesome.

Thanks!

I hope I didn't give that impression as it was not intended, I just knew that you would end up a rog8811 clone if you only knew what I know about lasers. I hope you will agree that becoming a member here has expanded your horizons.

@FML, do you have a link to the laser you have built/are building..... I need to see what the opposition is up to ;)

Haha don’t worry… I was being sarcastic. You were very nice and friendly. In fact, I think it would be better if I would be a Rog8811 clone… I would already have 2 or 3 and counting RGV lasers completed! And being a member here has more than “expanded my horizons”. It has taught me just about everything I know about lasers!

BTW… your pocket, 7-color laser is incredible! I love the idea of the triangle button! I can’t think of anything to top it. Maybe you should label it though:

I think I’ll state the obvious just for the heck of it:

R = Red
Y = Yellow
G = Green
C = Cyan
V = Violet
M = Magenta
W = White

Labelling would be a nice touch but I like the fact that it is a sleeper, to look at it folk have no clue as to what it is capable of. :)
