Then I suggest that you build one. :) You don't need any superior skills it's pretty easy and there are no fancy materials. The mirrors are made out of a harddrive disk (although that may require some skill).

I don't understand, What so special about the initial mirror that is used to reflect the beam?

Can i just use a normal piece of mirror, or does a normal mirror cause some minor refraction of light and make the beam change characteristics?

Thanks,

Mike

the initial mirror is to keep the laser BEHIND the display... otherwise it would be in front and possibly obstruct or mis-shape the tunnel..

what is that lens?
is it from a camera?
i have never seen light twist like that... very cool

Did I say you f*cking rock?

Well, you do.

You can use a flat standard mirror, but you will get some reflections which makes multiple weak beams instead of just one bright

Thanks... but that is kinda obvious to me, I am really asking about suitable things to use as mirrors to avoid unwanted refraction...

It's just a convex lens , there might be other lenses there, but it's doing the same thing as a convex lens.

Because the tunnel isn't hitting the lens evenly the refracted light isn't coming out all focused to one point, resulting in the focus point being uneven and looking twisted.

Sorry for the late reply, yes it's a convex lens which made the funky light twist, Diachi explained it good.

Yeah you get one main beam and a bunch of weaker beams next to each other which looks awful.

@FireMyLaser - so what material/solution did you use for your mirror to avoid multiple weaker refracted beams.

based on my poor memory of physics, you probably want to have a very thin layer over the reflective backing of the mirror, eg exteremely thin glass, or maybe some kind of clear paint over foil/metal surface?

I used harddrive-platters for mirrors. The efficiency isn't top notch but its free!
