Specs.
Diode: 12X BDR-205
Driver: Groove 2
Batteries: 2 protected RCR123A 3.7
Lens: Jayrob 405-G-1
Module: machined diode pocket
Focus: Built in focus adapter
Current: 596mA (was 675mA) Groove 2 driver exceeded it's maximum specified current and I didn't test it based on the assumption that it wouldn't hence the parenthesized current.
Output: 805mW (was 900mW)

I believe it is powder coated.

@yobresal:
How long do you expect it to last?
900mW is a lot of power, but it will burn out... and zero milliwatts isn't very useful.

I never intended it to be 675mA. I was going for 600mA like my other 12X. My other has been at 603mA (830mW) for a few weeks and is burning strong.
I have now reduced the current on this one to 596mA and it is doing 805mW. This is where I am going to leave it. I am well aware of the risks associated with the currents I set most all of my personal builds at and do so willingly. I am not so much worried about replacing the diode when it dies. I have yet to have to do this with any of my 12X lasers but when the time comes I am not going to be surprised. I feel like the risk I am taking is to my and others benefit.
Yes it is powder coated.

Beamshots please!
Really sweet home for your 12x. If I may ask what did the host cost?

WOW that is exactly what I was looking for except the ridges in the handle... but they look alright (from the pics I can see). How much did that cost you.... I need one that will accept a green module :D

What if you powder coated it, THEN cut out the ridges/fins in the head so that they
showed the metal's color inbetween the cooling fins. I think that might be a cool look

If I am not mistaken the ridges in the handle are o-rings set into grooves that where meant for them.

~EDIT~
How about powder coat Then cut fins into head Then.... Nevermind perhaps I'll keep it to myself till I have some sweet pictures to show. :san:
I shall dub thee Halo fins.

Lol, nice ideas. I was liking the idea of all black on this one. You will have to discuss pricing with Ehgemus. And don't be affraid to pay him
mote than his asking price. He deserves it.

LOL, You're right. I had the laser completed within an hour of receiving the host in the mail.

Wow, that looks a lot like the host I want to get. It does look very nice powder coated. I wonder if the o-rings on the handle are available in different colors. Imagine a set of those, all black , with red rings for the red, purple rings for the blu ray, and a similar style of green with green rings. That would be an awesome looking set.
