EDIT: they are done  ;D this took alot of work  i thought it would be easy to tell a machine what to do it. wasn't  . ther are now 11 insted of 15  i ruined a few  :-[ and i changed some of the design as you can see from the pic's .
these lil guy's where machined out of a solid block of 1"x 2" aluminum . they take about 15 min's each to make in the minimill  ;D scroll on down for the finished pic's   ENJOY

Make more!

I have been looking for something like this for ages and always have trouble finding one. Willing to sell any?

These look really nice... being able to mill things is very handy.

i am willing to trade some of them . if i find more people like them a may make another run of them . i have already come up with more idea's .

@thegr8revealing
these one's will not be fan attachable as they are to small and i don't thik there's a need for one

@ benm i have a good friend that own's a machine shop he let's me play around with all the automated machine's when it's slow . i'm still having trouble learning to use the program's .

i would also like to know if there is a need for heatsink's like this . i can make as many as i want i just feed the machine :D

They are only a bit shorter than my DL 50mW green labby.

That's great news though, how much would you be willing to sell them for? I think there is a need for them, at the moment I see people having to buy cheap DX modules and ripping out the diode and driver just for the heatsink and even then I don't think there are any mounting points on the heatsink.

Re: lab style heatsink teaser

i also found some heatsink's on zbolt . i didn't like the look of them .
i was only go to make 4 of them but my friend got pissed @ me and said i was a fool for not making 20 of them . so now i'm makeing as many as i can .i ruined the 1st one :'(

i now have to rework the whole thing . now they will be even smaller but still hold the axiz with out sicking out except for the len's nut . the set screw will be on the top i may drill for 2 and the mounting hole's will now be u shaped so you can move it around abit .

as for the price i'm not shure i will be selling them alest not the 1st batch . i will do trades for some of the 1st batch . i only need 4 of them :D

Thats good :)

I wouldn't change the design too much, I think the ones you have above are the best kind of design. I really can't stand these triangle shaped ones and such, they really do look odd and look ridiculous in a scanner as well as being hard to align.

the only reason i'm making the change to the design is becuse of the mounting hole's . i was way off on my math and made the 1st one's to big . now i'm going with a channle insted of "hole's" . they will be u shaped it will give you more room to adjust the heatsink when mounted . i realy thought i would be done with the demo but this cnc stuff is hard . hopefully by the end of the week . when i finish the 1st one and it look's good all i have to do after that is feed the machine :D

Re: lab style heatsink teaser

It would be superb if you could machine them in 2 pieces so a TEC could be incorporated in the end result - just a little block for the laser module, and de rest of the unit on the hot side of the TEC.
