Re: I've finally made a host!

Ahh... someone else sees what I mean!

Think about it...

have the ability to choose what kind of tailcap you want (from a set of options),
and choose the type of battery tube you want for whatever batteries you want to use, and to choose a driver housing after that, that could be fitted to a particular driver, and fitted with an optional side clicky switch ;) , and then choose the head that you want, style, diode type, and mounting options. Use universal threading, and

just screw all the parts together after soldering up!

THINK about the potential. $$$$$$Pontiac$$$$$$

Just THINK about it for me... ;)

-Tyler

im really only worried about fitting different batts. all i would want is a side clickie with interchangeable batt compartments so i can switch to different batts if i want to.

VERY nice Pontiac5, a home lathe someone said?.......Hmmmm guess we all have machines like that in our garage; yea with 4 wheels on it too:):) Someone doesn't know what you do for a living :)

So keep us all posted on prices and availability, you've done some fine work there!

Well, Its pretty much done except for some more polishing.

I finished the battery barrel, the button, and the driver holder today.

Picture overload! Well, I guess this is the multimedia section :D

I milled out a driver and switch holder, its designed to let you just slide everything in to place nice and neat, no messing with getting stuff centered and in the right place.

The button still has a little "tag" on the back of it from where it was cut off a bar, I am going to sell these with the switch included and that little nub will be trimmed to fit that switch. I am also going to sell them without the switch so you can add your own, then I will leave the tag so you can trim it to fit your button perfectly.

It only holds one 18650 right now but I am planning more "swappable" parts for other battery types.

This is just a light polish, there are still a few imperfections that need worked out a little. It takes longer for me to polish them than it does to make them

Now I need to start the naming thread, because I have absolutely no idea what to call it :shhh:

If anyone wants one now, as in shipped tomorrow or Saturday send me a PM. It will be functional but it won't be polished, it will look like the one in the first pictures.

I'll take one! But I want to wait for a polished one...

Will the switch be a clicky on/off? Not momentary correct?

Sending PM...

Re: I've finally made a host!

We have these types of machines at work. We make bombs with them. There's over 100 of these at work! All different types.
Oh no, this is no home lathe. These are made on a Mazak Super Quick Turn 10-MS

That is the same thing, but the one I use has a tail spindle to swap parts from one side to the other to do work on both sides in one cycle.

Here is it making a square heatsink I also have for sale

Aw, I've only got a measly three and a half :D (the live tooling on one is broken!)

The darn spammer bumped this back to life, I found a few problems after sending this host out for testing so I decided to take it back to the drawing board. I've got plans for a similar host that I'll start on pretty soon now that the grooves are almost done!
