I've known for a while now that peanuts fluoresce under 405nm light, but today I noticed something odd when I was shining my bluray at a jar of peanut butter...

It seems to actually retain a charge and glow!

I'm guessing peanuts are high in phosphorous or something...

Awesome!........*going to check the fridge for peanut butter*.....It doesn't last very long but it makes the dot look nice and white.

My wife got a good giggle outta this one  :) Even at 160mW, the effects are slight, but it works ;D
Ive also notice the stucco on my ceiling does this (a brief glow) as does an older T.V with a CRT.
My in-laws have a nice stone tile floor, which also glows for a moment after exposure.

The list of things to hit with 405 seems to be endless

CRT tv's are great to check the beam profile when unfocussed a bit, though my scope screen lighs up even better (albeit green with long afterglow).
