Well isn't a black light just UV light? There's tons of stuff like that out there.

I used to have a pretty small black light that would charge those GITD stars that you put in kids' rooms. In theory it should work just fine for your application, but if you wanted to charge the laser with lasers there are lots of ways to do it. Got a few ideas myself PM me if you get stuck or want another idea.

Edit: It was kind of like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLAZING-BLACKLIGHT-12-POWERFUL-FLUORESCENT-UV-handheld-8-Watts-Genuine-G-E-/290755568947?pt=US_DJ_Lighting_Single_Units&hash=item43b261e533

5 seconds on each side with a decent UV flashlight should work great.

If you do want to incorporate it in the case, I'd take Pman's suggestion about the black light (which you can get for 15 dollars), and either put it on a switch, or wire it so that it only runs when the case is open.

Either way, Its a really cool idea and you're going to have to post some pics of the final setup :D

If you have the case(or atleast the lid) be acrylic, you could view the laser with the case closed. Pop the lid open to activate the blacklight to charge the GITD and you're good to go.

Wow getting elaborate. Just how I like it! Loving the ideas wannaburnstuff . Acrylic window with uv bulbs on either side hidden under the perimeter of the window. I want to put the laser on small brackets that suspend it without touching the gitd areas so I will not have to spin the laser in the case to charge it. Imagine like the arms that hold a sword display but something that goes around so it stay secure. Like some kind of locking c clip

I hadn't seen the pic showing the focusing knob unitl now. Makes a huge difference the way you did that. Pman likes!
