Its finally here! after about 5 minutes of setting it up and figuring out how to turn the damn thing on... I have the argon in my room and fired up! I took the pictures after it had been running for about 5 minutes... but after 15 minutes or so it actually got quite a bit brighter. Anyway.... this thing is awesome!! Very unique colored beam. I haven't had a chance to stick the power meter in front of it, but I plan on doing that tonight when I get off work. This thing is in perfect shape.... it looks like its brand new out of the box. Here are a few quick pictures I snapped:

In this picture I tried to focus on the beam... It didn't come out very well. The beam is actually brighter in person than on my phone camera.

Nice one GooeyGus, I would love an argon some day, hope you have lots of fun with it, sure you will.

Be sure to post some power readings later.

If only you had a camera that had no CCD burns, those burns really dont do that argon any justice.

So... it turns out those pictures were of the laser at 'idle'... maybe 5A of current. Climbak helped me jump the right pins to get the power knob working... oh wow... what a difference. It will sting my skin now and its just ridiculously bright. Here's the only pic I have so far at full power... remember this is in a fully lit room facing the sun.

;D Yeah that thing would need some serious power, could just switch your heating off and it wouldnt cost you much more and your house would still technically have heating, just a different type.

I want an argon ::) better just wait and get an RPL first though.

My dad already complains about the power bill, what would he say if I had an argon using that much power

Lol WUT ??[/quote]

Lol POWER READINGS. You know, when you stick the power meter in front of the laser so the little display shows how much power the laser has. ::) It's just interesting to know.....
