He, being the asshole he is, played it off as "burns that could have just as easily been caused by the sun" in a tone that implied I was an idiot for even accusing him, the guy who shined a laser directly into my eye, as having caused the burns on my retina. He's just that kind of guy. Whatever, I'm not blind and the impact on my vision is very small.

He needs a swift kick to the nads. As punishment and to prevent him from having retarded offspring.

Yeah, I'm not doubting you, but I noticed their sport style goggles say they're OD2 and yours are OD5, when did you buy them?

Maybe it's OD5 for the shorter wavelengths, I can't see what it says after 606-694nm. :-/

Normally I would say a kick in the nads isn't very manly, but I see how it is required in this case.He must be stopped from spreading his defective genes. You'd just be helping natural selection :D

He's still at it, though. This was a few years ago, 3 I think, and he hasn't change his attitude any. He bought an Aries-175 recently and one time, I walked into the basement by opening the basement door and the beam of his Aries was shining right at eye level. Luckily, I didn't walk into the beam and end up with yet more burns.

I would be so mad if someone did that.

Ive done a test on my goggles to see if they would burn through and the result was quite surprising, on my nova goggles they did start to get kind of melty patterns on them after awhile (like 1-2minutes). But when i tried them on my dewalt goggles it wouldn't do anything for 8 minutes straight (my laser was on a big heatsink).

I think im starting to like those dewalt goggles better, first of all they were alot cheaper, they block more light so it is much easier for me to focus it to the smallest point possible, and there more comfortable for me to wear..... the only small disadvantage is that they are slightly darker but not much, its still very easy to see in indoor lighting, don't have any trouble at all.

...lazer.... ;D ;D ;D

Well, if I didn't beat his ass for actually burning my retina, I'm not gonna beat it for failing to. I've considered it many times, but in the end it's just not worth it for a little self-satisfaction.

Ok I understand that, I guess your right and I see you're not the kind of person who gets carried away because of emotions. (unlike me) :-[
But still, he burned your retina and he keeps being stupid and immature. Why do you even keep talking to him???

Even if he is stupid and immature, he's one of my best friends, and a few stupid things don't invalidate all the years we've known eachother and all the stuff we've been through together.

Wow, that's not a really healthy thing to do.You were probably eighter squinting hard or didn't stare at it for really long.I mean, a child can only endure so much pain ::)
