I know it is a pain, but probably best not to point them up. What with everything that is going on at the moment. A beam that close may cause problems and be reported despite no criminal intentions.
By 5km they should be at a safe altitude but best to stay safe IMO.

The issue is the airport hosts a flight school so theres always small airplanes going around at low altitude.

Do they actually have student flights at night? That is when most people would be taking beam shots in the sky. But, close to any airport is a poor choice for pointing a laser skyward.

Photographs are just beautiful, as usual. With winter starting to set in, it looks darker and it will be much colder. I'd rep you, but can't just yet. Thanks for the awesome pictures.

Very nice photos. I especially liked the stars being visible in the first two. The mist in the last ones make it look like winter is coming on. Thanks for sharing these.

Yes....Really Great shots of your Photonic Stream....marching out into the Solar System... in coherent lock step !!! Go my photons....where no one has gone before !!

Note that the Evil "Demon of Divergence" will eventually spread the photonic pack....as they probe into deep space at 11,176,920 miles every minute...Oh well...It somehow remains thrilling to see the stream start the " Long Walk " !!!!!

Beam out !!!!

It's interesting to see signs of civilization in these as we are used to the absence of anyone else. Very beautiful.

Oh how I'd love to visit and actually see this beautiful phenomenon, called "Aurora".
Beautiful as always Arctic.

" The Word is Given"...To repay you now.... A little poetic play......

"The Infinite Photonic Finger "

Fly...Fly my pretties !!
Photon's marching as pure chromatic goodies...

Outward now...at Light Speed...Your vector
I do now remain the selector !!

Your humble birth...in the LD junction here on Earth
Where quantum jumps ....fall back in coherent pumps....

...You are my emissary....to Infinity...and beyond !!

....Errrrr...Whatever !!! Beam Out

Arcticdude, your pictures are fantastic. Mind me asking, what camera are you using? The only good camera I have to photograph my lasers is my iphone 5c camera and the quality is low. Any thoughts for a <$200 camera that might do the trick?
