Blu-ray spyrograph + GITD paint goodness

Well, except for Youtube axe-murdering my video's quality, it turned out pretty well:

I modified the pocket lasershow from thinkgeek, removed the red diode and used my dremel to create a sizeable hole in the side of the unit, directly behind where the red laser sat previously, pointing at the first mirror. It works with all my lasers, but it looks the coolest with a pulsed laser like the Aquarius.

Yeah, youtube butchered my video pretty good. I could probably find a place to host the video if there was really that much interest, too.

<Minor threadjack about Youtube video quality:>

When you upload a video to Youtube, they do store the original unaltered video, but they generate a lower-quality bandwidth-saving version for general consumption. They've started rolling out higher-quality copies of some videos... not the quality of the original upload (which they probably won't make available unless they start a paid-subscriber plan or the internet gets about 5x faster) but better than the standard fare.

If a higher-quality version exists, you can access it by adding "&fmt=18" to the end of the URL. (Sometimes it's "&fmt=6", though... Youtube hasn't really told anybody what they are doing or how they are doing it, so I don't know the difference between the formats.)

It doesn't look like they've made a higher-quality version of your video yet.

Usually the higher-quality version will have a link underneath the "Views:" count that says "watch in standard quality". If you are logged in to your Youtube account you can go to [link=www.youtube.com/video_quality_settings]the quality settings page[/link] and set it to "I have a fast connection. Always play higher-quality video when it's available".
