I finally finished mine...

I didn't go for the spiro, but I have my tiny spiro from rog8811's other tutorial that I can attach it to if I want! :)

Congratulations Jay, you have joined a very small and select club!
I like the idea of clicky buttons, are they momentary if you half press them?

They are reverse clickies, so they give that momentary effect with this build, if you have more than one laser on...

That is, when you press half way, it will turn off, giving a different color.

And thanks again for showing this Rog! This is the coolest!

No, the Aixiz focusing ring is there to act as an aperture cap. It allows you to use a dust cover to keep dust out.:)

Yes, that is correct...

Specifically for having a dust cap! :)

Here's some beam shots... (with some smoke)

I say that somebody should add a beam expander to their 7-color so it can be focused for longer distances, shorter distance, or burning... this would make it much more versatile.

Congrats Jay looks good!

If you guys want to burn with your white lasers like I do you can use the lens from the front of a green module but the focus will be fixed at a specific distance unless you use two, but then there is loss. Have fun!!!

Thanks to Rog!!!

Oh yeah, great job on your build, Jay! I love the way you have the batteries... makes it easy to change them. And the focus-grip makes a nice aperture. Pretty sweet!

Thanks guys! :)

Man... I love this project and build, but I would have never even attempted it if rog8811 didn't show us how!

You are the Man Rog!

The only problem I see at the moment is that you would not be able to fit the same size/type heatsink for the B-R, having said that it looks like a well thought out mount for the red for other projects as well, I take it that the front end is tapped for the lens? how easy is it to adjust focus?

Now that is a neat idea :). Only I don't think you could fit 3 of those side-by-side like that. And it wouldn't be much of a portable laser anymore. Unless you aiming for a labby! Pretty nifty.

kinda big

Yeah those wouldn't make a pocket-sized unit but it could still be portable one. Great idea! I am working on building a higher powered one too. I am throwing away the optics and trying to find affordable ones, not much out there thats priced for a hobbyist. Still haven't figured out how I'm going to have adjustable mounts with good sized heatsinks and still have it pocket sized, but I'll have my design in a few days.

....of course I have re-thought my question above.... you focus it before fitting the adjuster plate... brain burp:whistle:
