Nice pic! Camera's often have a hard time rendering the 405 nm color correctly, but this seems to be pretty close to what it looks like to the eye, looking at it on a calibrated screen as well.
One thing that strikes me as a bit odd though: the license plate on the pickup truck seems to be illumnated by 405 nm light as well - is that due to some reflection of the laser onto something outside of the frame?

That could be an effect of the camera lens. Seems like that is most of the light going toward the camera. Can't think of what else it could be. The laser is not pointed at or even toward the license plate.

I actually believe it's because I had the beam within mm's of the camera lens so even a minuscule amount of light will be reflected back toward the camera. It probably wouldn't do that if the lasers was several feel away from the actual lens
Yeah I believe that is why, the laser was super close to the lens so it only took a fraction of light to be reflected back.

The stuff they use for plates will 'see' and reflect (even just a little) if there is any 405 outside or lower power than our ability to see anything other than reflected 405 laser off that plate.

Yup indeed it is. Using an IPhone I still can't believe it looks that bright on a phone camera. I only wish the actual Video mode on these smart phones could pick up light as well as still image
If that ever happens our videos will be incredible!
