It's been such a long week...not a lot of time to play - found 30 mins last night and tried some stuff out.

These are all with a single 488nm Sharp diode.
I used a 'diamond' shaped prism, diffraction grating, and a few mirrors.

Enjoy :D

Yeah, you got to love a laser and a few diffraction gratings. Add a mirror or two and you have beams all over the place. ;)

More good stuff, Lew, a good way to start a friday!

I agree, Bruce, I think these new 488nm - 495nm diodes are the new 473's, and IMO, they're even nicer looking! :yh:

Hey Bowtie,
I agree, they make the 473nm look like a "normal" blue

Again - thank you everyone for the kind words :D

When I set this up a few days ago, I really wanted to focus on the the reflected beams coming out of the mirror, not so much the ones just passing straight through the "tunnel" or going completely around the "tunnel". I wanted a bunch of criss-crossing beams. I set up another "tunnel" tonight, and attempted to use a quarter to block the beams passing straight through...not super happy with the results, but had fun and got some other shots while I was at it :D

Also - put a small 'dot' of tape in the middle of the diffraction grating and got a neat pattern I'll share:

Pretty neat...onto the quarter-created eclipse (using diffraction grating w/o the small dot of tape for more solid beams):

Not exactly what I wanted...so removed the quarter and just shot the beams into the "tunnel" at an angle. Check out some of the "infinite mirror" shots when the camera is pointed almost straight down (perpendicular to the length of the "tunnel"):

It's galactic!! Click for higher res!
