Is there a thread that actually describes these hosts? All I've found is Ehgemus' photo gallery with pictures. Nothing explaining what the hosts include or what services he offers. Heatsink? Focus ring? Something similar to Jayrob's "Hot" option?

Not sure what other parts I'll have to buy to go with these.

That's because they are totally custom, but afaik all of Ehgemus' hosts have the following:

A head/heatsink to fit a module of your choice (ie Aixiz) or has a diode pocket like the one here, battery tube and tail clicker. Being a custom deal, you can add subtract what you want ... if a style you like doesn't have a focus adapter ask him if he can add one.

What you need to bring to the party:

Diode, lens, module(if no diode pocket), wire(get Flaymingpyro's stranded silicone insulated wire), driver, and spring for battery contact(this host has a hard rubber insert with the spring attached and a wire to patch it to the driver).

PM him, tell him what style you are interested in and what features you would like.

Is it better to have a module or a diode pocket?

Module advantage:
A module allows you to adjust its position foward/aft in the head via a set screw[therefore allows you to adjust how big the gap between the focus adapter and the head].

Module disadvantage:
The material is usually brass which is not as good of a heat conductor as aluminum. Because of the use of the set screw, the module only partially touches the inside of the head/heatsink on the opposite side of the set screw (This also depends on how tight the tolerance is on the inside diameter of the head/heatsink).

The diode pocket will give you better heat-sinking since the diode will be in direct and complete contact with the aluminum. It also spare you the expense of sourcing a module.

Looks the same, but with a straight tail clicker ... maybe Ehgemus could chime in. I like his new integrated driver pill in that thread.
