400mW can do that at 25' Away i say Prove it. sorry but it's hard to think your 400mW can start a fire at 25' and ask you to video it.

I would like to see that too. I have lit wood chips (about 3 times wider than a match stick) with me 1W 445nm. But have not been able to light a candle with my 1W as it just cuts the wick and smokes a lot

I just tried again , and the best I could do was 12 feet. I am getting some beam artifact on the right side now for some reason. I can still light a match @ 25 feet though.

when you say Match do you meen the Wood or the Match top
' I can't see your 400mW Starting a fire on just the wood end of the match at 25 feet, so like i said so me your 400mW laser starting a fire at 25feet with out the help of anything and then i'll say ok you can but i have never seen a 400mW start a fire out of wood or anything for that fact only 1w and above is what has been showen.

so Prove it lol

thank you for that, cause at first you said your 400mW can light a Candle from 25' i have yet to see a 400mW ever start a fire . without help of a fuse or other item, my 1w can start a fire without the help of anything lol

I did light the candle from 6' away earlier today though. Yes, 400mW 405nm.

Take a Video mtrsprt, i really do wanna see a 400mW light a Candle, look fwd to it, i have not seen any videos but think there should be some.

impossible. The 400mW 405nm can't light a candle from 25ft. 400mW doesn't have enough energy density to actually get a flame on the wick. Your 1W 445nm will certainly light a candle at it's focal point ~abeit rather quickly.

hmm, something doesn't sound right!
