Hello LPF'ers!!!!!

Well, over spring break I had the opportunity to make a couple of lasers, which was great because it gave me a chance to keep practicing and it allowed me to fill in some wavelengths.

For this build I used:

1 x Black Unmarked C6 Host via Cajunlasers
1 x Black Anodized Heatsink via Cajunlasers
1 x Black Focus Adapter via Cajunlasers
1 x Low Divergence, Single Mode 300mW 650nm Diode via DTR
1 x 17mm Round Linear Driver @ 378mA via Mohrenberg
2 x AW 18350 Batteries via Someone at CPF

This is actually the best I think I have done on any build so far. Having used my new Soldering Iron for a bit, I am starting to feel very confident. I made sure to Heatshrink every connection, the driver board did not get burnt to hell like ones I have had in the past(fine tips are the bomb(dot)com!), and I even used Thermal Paste between the heatsink and the Host for any and all heat dissipation needs....although at only 378mA I am not too worried.

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the final product, unfortunately I never think to take pictures while building the laser and once I get it build I am afraid to take it apart again lol.

In the pictures the minor scratches on the host seeem pretty obvious, but in person it looks extremely clean and blacked out. Even though this is not an intensely powerful build I am pretty proud of it and am glad to have it as my 650nm representative in my collection.

Thanks,
Isaac

Thanks guys :) ya I really like the combination of the blacked out host and the deep red color of the laser. It feels menacing. :D

Well done, Wannaburn! Maybe I need to talk to Clif about a home for my 300mW DTR 650nm. He's been so helpful with everything else. +1 on your build!

Great work. Those moh linear drivers really are the best option to pair with my 650 diodes to keep the cost down.:)

Very nice! I just got the same 650nm module and driver (except i got the rectanular one). Will be my first build. This makes me want to get started...

I too went with Moh's linear for my DTR 300mW 650. I had mine preset by Moh @ 495mA.
Perhaps I will have it LPM'd one day.

Very well done! I have yet to try to build a laser :shhh:

I LOVE red beamz.

From DTR's private message to me:

They are the red diodes out of a BDR-206 drive.

Are you sure it's a the BDR-206M (or Mbk)?!

Then I'm a little confused I thought they only have crappy 3.8mm IR/Red double wl diodes.

http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/bdxl-pioneer-bdr-206m-63328.html <-- click me ( btw love that kind of article! researching for new diodes ftw :thanks:)

I think it's more the new BDR-206UBK or BDR-206DBK because they have a faster 16x Dvd rating instead of the 12x BDR-206M.
I'm also curious which 405nm diode they have? Is it the same thats in the S0J6?

DTR plz help! :undecided:
