I was amazed myself.

After finding some reading that the beam would not be very visible on these BR lasers, I was skeptical about doing this instead of a green build. Until I finished and pushed the button that is!! :evil:

These high-powered 12X diodes are incredibly visible at night as you can see. Divergence is very good too, looks tighter than my old 55mW 532nm WL pen which I thought was quite good.

Surely no smoke. Would have took a lot to fill a street with 150 yards of smoke. :D

It may have been slightly humid, but visibility was good and there was no apparent fog in the air.

BTW, I'm trying to order my Laserbee now so we can find out what this baby is outputting.

wow that is crazy. the way it is built looks perfect.

i wonder how bright the beam will be on my 140mw blu-ray i bought from bryce.

It doesn't take much moisture in the air to help with the visibility of the beam. Plus, cameras pick up UV much better than our eye. It is a sweet looking build. However, don't expect the beam to be this visible to your naked eye or in the summer ;)

Sorry. A bit geocentric of me here. I live in Southern California (US). We have very dry summers and wet winters here (as you may have heard/read in the news the past week). Where you are in the world will definitely effect when the humidity is higher.

He stated it was "slightly humid." That is not a very specific measure, but it does indicate that the humidity was high enough to "feel" it. The point being that it doesn't take much humidity to increase the beam's visibility.

For general info the humidity in that area was about 90 % for those wondering about the effect of that on visibility..
