The fantastic could-not-be-better Venue is a huge auditorium in Newton NC. Many hours of private laser shows-

The Inn is only minutes away in Conover.
The Event starts Thur the 19th of Aug ending Sunday at 5:30 PM

coming in for just a day to watch is free and well worth the drive.

PS Edit-- You can watch live streaming from SELEM and there is free HiSpeed wifi at the event and at the HIExpress. I will be offering DVDs from SELEM V. tons of pics and vids get posted at PL-LPF and on Youtube- go now and search to see what you missed in previous years. Or just sit there on your duff and watch Judge Judy.

Hmmmmmm, only ~650 miles, did that plenty of times in one shot, knee/ankle always start to act up around mile 400, but with a few days to rest... and only need two days off.

Just remember folks that it's best to pre-register for SELEM. Registering and paying the fee ahead of time will get you a free SELEM shirt. There is no need to join PhotonLexicon to attend SELEM. You simply need to follow the directions in the sign up thread on PL

Official sign-up thread for the 5th annual SELEM in Newton, NC - August 19th - 21st.

You will also be required to sign a waiver prior to entry.

All laser enthusiasts are welcome! The auditorium will be filled with very load music and plenty of lasers. Outside the auditorium there will be plenty of other things going on, such as: Cigar versus Lexel 95 (water cooled, 3 phase ion laser) - YouTube

If you have an ion laser, bring it! We will have plenty of 3 phase power!

I just found out that I have a 36 foot motor home I can possibly borrow, it'll hold a few more people (and lasers) than the G5. I'd need to find a few more people between Kansas and SELEM to offset the price of gas though (RV gets 8mpg, the G5 pushes 32 on a good day...)
Then again, I don't know if I could find parking close enough to the auditorium or not. Would make a hotel cheaper though!

Well shoot, just about an hour ago I split a room with someone else, otherwise I would have offered. Glad to hear you might make the trip, Dave, it's well worth it!
