o okay i see.
ya that cleared a lot up for me THANKS!! :yh:
what are those pins for on the other side of the correction amp? is that the output that goes into the input on the scanner amps?

Those go to the DZE breakout board. Then the breakout board goes to another breakout board (kinda like this: DAC --> DZE --> gender changer --> male->female DB25 cord --> another DZE. The amps plug into the DZE aswell as the laser signals. The shutter also plugs into the breakout board.)

^Check out the links in posts 50 and 55 in this thread. The DZE is the ILDA breakout board.

thanks =]

No tuning on the breakout board. You use them to simplify the connections on the DB-25 connector. If you look closely at the breakout board, you'll see that each connector is labeled with the connection that should be there (X, Y, R,G,B etc..) Basically, it boils down to using a long printer cable to connect the PC to the scanner via the DAC. The breakout board just makes wiring up the printer cable connections simple. Without them you need an ILDA wiring diagram and you have to solder each connection to the proper pin on the DB-25 connector.

im sorry but im stil a little confused.
what do you do with each of the connectors?
also, are you saying you plug in the cable to the DZE and connect the other end to the DB-25 connector, then add the cable from the DAC to the DB-25?

im sorry if thats a little confusing to read but im having a hard time figuring this out.

Obviously the computer needs a way to talk to the scanner. That's where the DAC comes in. It translates the computer's signals into signals the scanner parts can understand, so you need a way to connect the DAC to the scanner. The standard way to do this is to use a printer cable since usually the PC and the DAC will be in one spot and the projector will be in another. How can you use a printer cable if you don't have printer-style connectors on the items you want to connect? You can't, there would be nothing to connect to.. That's what the breakout boards are for. They make it easy to wire up printer cable style connectors in the DAC and scanner (which they need to communicate with each other) Then you can connect them using a printer cable. I don't know how much easier I can make this..

haha but in muffin mans last post he said you connect it to another DZE...
does that mean you need two?

You need one for the DAC and one for the scanner. That makes two. The reason you need a gender changer is that printer cables are male on one and and female on the other. The breakout boards are all male.
