Well, of course if I spend a heap more money I'll get something better ;D

Problem is, money doesn't grow on trees (unless you own an apple orchard).
I mean, I've got a $215 DAC going against a $360 DAC. I'm already pushing my budget.

What about a sound card DAC and some free software? What do you suggest for that thesk8nmidget?

Ah crap.

I did some investigating around, and now I know WHY that DAC and software is bad. Hard to makes shows, everything skips forward really fast, etc. Rather than just saying something is bad, I prefer if you say what's wrong with it so I can judge for myself whether it's bad for me or not :)

Oh well, that's both the options I was considering out the door... nuts...

Options now is either go with a modified sound card DAC... or save up for moncha... Since I want to make animations, moncha is probably the best bet... but it'll be a while before I get the cash... damn.

moncha isnt great for drawing shows or animations. its not meant for that, its meant for live playing.

if you want something geared up for designing your own stuff then you need the fb3

Since it's only a 10kpps scanner, going for the fb3 is a little overkill. I've played around with the Moncha software and it seems fine for me needs. When I get around to building a much more powerful scanner, then I'll put fb3 in it ;)
