Is there some way I can make the electronic microphone on my chinese dept. store 10k set more sensitive? I have the sensitivity up full at the moment but I can only get good results when my scanner is right in front of my sub woofer, obviously the louder the better. I cant get anything anywhere else apart from in front of the sub, I keep my scanner above my computer screen right next to the speakers, even if I put the microphone right up to the speaker I get nothing from it.

So is there some way I can modify it to be more sensitive?

no idea on modding im guessing its madefor loud clubs etc

Well my speakers are stereo flat panels and a 50w sub woofer which is over powered. I actually have it so loud at times the whole house is vibrating, including the front door downstairs. The type of speakers shouldn't make much difference and if I go any louder I am either going to vibrate the house to pieces or my speakers are going to explode. (speakers at 100% bass, 50% speaker volume, 100% media player volume with custom equalizer and 100% computer volume)

The microphone is completely standard as it first come when I got it as I have no way of attaching it to the box. Its just hanging out the back through a small hole which again shouldn't make much of a difference.

your mic is probly just a piece of crap, and you cant mod that. i would suggest to get a cheap vocal mic and tearing it apart and hooking it up. sound sensitivity mics are also usually made to pickup mostly bass so that you show will change on beat.

If I can just increse the sensitivity so that I dont have to move the scanner right in front of the sub. Anywhere I can buy another one or something?

I think a vocal mic would be way to sensitive.

LOL i put my RGY ontop of my 250W sub, now THAT makes for a awesome laser show! Last year at a concert, it was hanging over 6000W of subs   LOL, but yeah, its most likely your mic. I'm pretty sure you can buy electret or whatever it is, mics at RS

I only do shows for myself, when plaing about with it and for family at the moment. I only have 4.1 speakers with a 50w bass speaker for my tv (connected to PS2, TV and Freeview TV) and 2.1 with a 50w sub woofer for my computers.

I hope to try it with my dads 5.1 surround system at some time, that has a 500w sub woofer. Thinking though, the position I have my PC sub in makes the whole house vibrate... imagine what a 500w can do

My 250W can make the whole house vibrate even turned on half way. 500W will be fun! The 6000W subs i was talking about, if you lay next to em, they would almost give you a massage, and maybe blow your eardrums too LOL :D

Haha. I have my PC 50w sub between my computer desk and some shelfs so it sounds like its double the power. No massages but my hand on the mouse is vibrating, my feet are vibrating and I can feel the chair vibrating at times. I play BF2 now with the bass up full ;D

All that power and I still have to have my scanner fairly lose to the sub for a decent result.

This is easy -- I didn't like the mic on my RGY so I added a line input with sens. control. Piece of pie !!
