Spam, is quite nice on bread actually :p

But otherwise, yeah, the laser is good for club use.

Not for what he wants it for!

That laser is too powerful for audience scanning, don't use it. Amateurs shouldn't use more than 5mW when audience scanning. Only professionals should do it because they go through a rigorous amount of tests and safety features to prevent the lasers from doing eye damage.

You can have it flashing around and stuff, but NOT for audience scanning!

its all about your scanning speed too if you have 2 points across the audience and are scanning at 60kpps that will throw the beam over them very fast but you your scanner does not do IDLA if it cant push 40-50kpps with one point either side of the audience, i would not audience scan with more than 5mw

oh and by the way go here for much better "intheknow" people its a forum more dedicated to scanners

www.photonlexicon.com

edit:
OUCH that thing uses microstep motors you wont get more than 5kpps out of those you need galvos for that stuff keep that beam under 5mw if your audience scanning

either way with 5mw you will need a LOT of fog, enough to choke and kill people anyway :p

it also depends where you are on legalities and you might need a variance (legal permit of some kind) in some places

I wouldnt worry too much about that laser blinding anyone. Its not the right kinda power, and chances are the divergence and go density will limit the power severly.

if you dont have a clue about lasers, as this post would suggest, i wouldnt suggest you aim it at people!

its people like you who know nothing abut lasers and do silly thigns that give the rest of us a bad name.

only real professionals can do audiance scanning safely.

I WOULD!

it may not make anyone blind but it sure as hell can cause permanent damage to a lot of the audiences eyes.

it may also land you in the middle of a big law suit.

it is the right kind of power to cause damage and its divergences doesnt mean much when its scanning as slow as step motors scan.

please please please do NOT point that at anyone
