RGB Laser buying advice

Hi guys,
First time lasererer, first time forumerer.

I'm looking into purchasing an RGB laser projector. From what I've been able to ascertain from my research I'm looking for about a 2000mw analog RGB laser, with around 30kpps image resolution, and a relatively low beam attenuation (1mrad(?)).

-I live in canada.
-I'm looking to purchase Quickshow as well.
-Total price range ~$2500 (give or take... probably give with kit :p)
-I want to be able to do shows with it.
-At this point I'm not interested in a DIY, I don't have the time or the technical knowledge, but would potentially be interested in the future.

things that look good on ebay:

2500mW Full Color Analog RGB Laser Ilda DJ Lighting 40K | eBay

2000mW RGB Full Color DMX512 Ilda DJ Laser Analog 40K | eBay

2000mW 2W RGB DMX512 Ilda Laser W 40K Pangolin QUICKSHOW2 0 Software | eBay

NEW Smart 2500mW RGB Analog DMX Ilda Stage DJ Full Color Laser Lights RED 637nm | eBay

...anyhow, you get the point.

All the ebay companies have great 100% reviews:

te-lighting
djslighting
meierlighting
rgblasers

Buuuutttt... all the lasers seem to have the same housing, and different or the same specs. If i get something like this from ebay, is it going to collapse in on itself in a glorious neon black hole? Look like an flashlight running out of batteries? Blind someone, or burn a hole through their chest!?!?!?!

What are everyones thoughts?

Thanks
nick

PS: I'm particularly keen on the 2000mw versions of the SMART laser (last link).

PJ if 'legal' will run you @ $3500usd< I assume you are from here- II would know if you had just added that to your profile- fellow Canadians like to see more coming to PLF WELCOME from TEXAS ( so unless they read this on thread ==

A non varianced PJ came be gotten for less and even cheaper if just TTL.

X=Laser sells PJs with paper.
avoid most China crap- for them is only about the money.
Exceptions are Winnie at Golden-and Linna at LaserKIng-
you just missed a PJ GB #3 of good 'home use' RGBs -$515 for 850mW.
Also Uason at LaserPhtot is a greeat prson.
At the show froum members often sell of gear to pay a bill or more likely buy another 'bit o kit.' My advice is to run away ;;; run away quick - before you no longer have a need to own a wallet, they are the most addicting of all forms of coherent lights.

In the morning I will go 1100mis. To see a three day laser show== youtube vids 'SELEM Laser' two venues one for beam shows and the other for graphics.
AND its a private party too!! Prolly 40 hours of shows and lots of original work .
We (~80 people plus their guests) have full access- IF we all sign an insurance waiver/
N/P- this is my 4th year.Great friends, lasers, food and open bar--

starting a thread on SELEM 2013
hak
PS when you are ready for QS shop around then PM me as my price will belower.

I was about to say, talk to hak; he's in the know about cheap RGB projectors. Looks like he beat me to it :)

Thanks for the warning to run away... but I'm afraid it's far to late. This is THE new hobby, and it will be pursued! I contacted someone who I have purchased sound equipment from in the past, and he offered me a used Microh Titan 1.5w RGB laser. It's seems like a super good deal at $1900.

MICROH - Professional Products - Lighting - Lasers - Titan RGB 1.5

-Does anyone have any experience with this Brand?
-What are the real world performance differences between at class 3B laser, and a class 4 laser with the ultimate goal of using them for live shows?
-What are the real world performance differences between 20kpps, and 40kpps?
-What are the performance differences between a 1.5w laser, and a 2w laser?

At this point, it's just questions before I start getting a real understanding of what's going on. Thanks again guys!

Haha sorry I'm not a projector expert, but the typo they made on their webpage states their blue laser as outputting 500 Watts of laser energy when I'm assuming they meant 500mW of laser energy. 500W would basically destroy everything in it's path, possibly sparing highly reflective materials only (maybe)

As for your questions, if Hakzaw1 may get on this thread...
