One channel of soundcard dac is getting stuck on full blast

I was just wondering if anyone has ever seen this issue. Sometimes after turning on my scanner or after having my scanner on for a while, the soundcard dac will all of a sudden start outputting the max number of volts (set to 5) on just the red channel, even with the volume of max.wav set to 0. In addition, changing the volume won't increase the output on this channel, it is just stuck at 5 V. The other channels (x, y, green, blue) are fine (0 volts at 0 volume and 5 volts at max volume), so I'm not quite sure what's going on. I can generally reset the red channel by fiddling with the red offset pot on the correction amp, but it keeps happening, so I'd like to figure out a way to fix the issue.

I definitely could not have built my first scanner without the help of everyone on this forum, and I'm having an awesome time with it, so thank you again. You all rock!

I built a soundcard DAC about a year ago and I must have spent over 50 hours total assembling, tweaking, re-tweaking, re-installing drivers. The newfound freshness quickly evaporated and I realised how worthwhile buying a DAC would be (even if it is iShow).

Anyway I am here to help not convince you :)
Have you tested that the 'red' signal coming from soundcard is fairly similar to that of the others when on max and mute? If that's all dandy then.
First is to replace the pots.
If that doesn't work, best is to replace all your components on that channel using a nice clean solder iron.

This is fairly generic advice from a non-expert but is likely to help :yh:
