wow, you weren't kidding when you said the red had a beam the size of a house. I like the new optics mounts you have in there now.

Could you rig up a beam reducer? I imagine the divergence will go up, but you could probably find a balance that would let you fit the beam to the galvo mirrors a little better.

Yeah that is the much easier way. Just have to get more powerful lasers to compensate for losses haha. The next step in my scanner build is the 635 so I will soon know what thise house sized beam thing is. Speaking of, you made a comment in another thread about CNI being great. Was that sarcasm or serious? My green CNI is still stuck in customs so I don't know anything about their quality other than a few things I've heard, but I do like their service very much.

ive never had cni but everyone says they are the best.

in the same way they say pangolin is the best.

you cant go wrong with a cni, if you go 671nm the beam is 10x better than 635nm

but alot dulller

If I could afford a watt of 671 instead of 3-500mW of 635 thats definitely what I'd do. Maybe if I end up being able to make some money doing shows I'll build a real nice scanner with full dpss.

Nice pics as usual! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]I swear I am going to go more broke than I already am because of you. More, more!

hey men im completely amazed with your project, i i want to build one!
its a really good inversion here in argentina,,, how much did you spend at the moment for each part?

here to hire one rgb laser its more than 6.000 pesos ( like 2000uss )
i work as a vj since 2003, and i also do ligthing ( i have a Pilot 300 )
im realy intresting, and im very exited,,, imagine i get my first green laser pointer 2 weeks ago, and im like crazy with it,,,
the last experience i have with laser was when i made my firs spinograph with a 5mw red 6 years ago ( im 22 )
i already build a 200mw laser from a dvdr ( lg 20x ) and im waiting for the k400a to arrive so i can get the blue one :)

i would like to know more about the prices of the galvo set, and the Dac,,, what kind of things can i do trough dmx?
and what its the software that i need to use to control the laser? i guess that software should have midi input or osc input,,, i work with VVVV ( vvvv.org ) and i control my vjset with an Akai MDP24 and a Wii Remote, i would love to integrate this to the vj set like i did with the lighting

Please tell us more about the prices of everything, as i told you before i live in Argentina, but i have a friend in USA that can bring me all the parts... firs i would love to know more about the software, and how do you make the videos... flash animations ?

You have an excellent project that its inspiring people around the world, so be happy men :)

Absolutely stunning! So is that not too bright up close (living room enviroment)? As your power levels are quite high...

I've stopped looking at pointers now, with all the stupidity going on with them, customs and even lack of uses, I just don't find them to be worth it. I'm deffinately making something like this a long term project. I have my Hulk and Spartan which will do fine for messing around small time with optics and will last me long enough to get the experience in soldering and working with electronics. Once I get a 473nm labby it's plain sailing from there...

So what would you think the overall power would be, after all the combining and reflecting? Would it be representative to all the power combined? As that shot on your curtain is quite close...

Cool, you see for uses if I ever built a full RGB set up, I would want to be able to use it in the corner of the living room, or in other close range enviroments, maybe with family or friends. I can't imagine my self taking it so far that I end up using it in clubs or large open enviroments, while it would be possible. I just don't want to have something so bright that people can't be around it without wearing safety goggles. Does all the combining it's self make it more bearable to be around up close? Because my Hulk (actually 212mW) is HELLA bright, I can't imagine using something of that power in a close range enviroment even when it's being thrown around by mirrors. Especially when you're using high power, it's confusing how it becomes that much bearable and what powers it occurs at.

my green is 532mw so pretty bright.

but its all analogue so i cant turn the power up and down as i like.

i saw a 5watt rgb dpss in a big club, not very bright at all. you need mega watts for rgb to be as good as green
