Well I was just mucking about with DMX the other night, and came across a cool effect I could do. It looks kinda like a spirograph effect!

Well basically, I just ran the standard patterns over DMX. Then, DMX gives you the options to change the colour, make it flash, draw it, add centre/horizontal/verticle rotation, and be able to make it zoom in and out, aswell as move right or left. Basically, I just ran the patterns through, and brought up the centre rotation slider (Spins from the middle). I took a screen shot of the DMX proggy. Notice how the program is called Freestyler, and the song in the vid was also called Freestyler? I only just noticed that  ;D

Go ahead andy, can never have too any vids!

And yes, freestyler is free. Though you do need a USB to DMX interface, obviously lol.

You can, but its damn complicated. If you try, I can almost guarantee you'll be working with alot of SMD omponents.

Mike, its really designed for lighting, not lasers, but you can still run lasers from it if you want. I could make up a fixture file for the laser, if you want to try it. I believe you have the scanpro's ?

I use it instead of that other program now, I only figured out how to use it with the laser a few weeks ago.

building a usb to dmx converter is easy
try googling on pic dmx controller
