You don't want to send the output of your DAC to the projector, but rather send the digital data to the projector, which then gets sent to a DAC and then to the projector. Otherwise you'll be dealing with sending analog signal data, which is probably not what you want, and you'd need more specialized equipment for that.

Since you have a Riya, you could probably set up a wireless ethernet connection using off-the-shelf wireless hardware and control it remotely via that. Just make sure you don't have terrible latency.

you want to use a wifi bridge. once properly set-up it acts just like a cat-5 line...

I use a Linksys E1000 wifi router with a Linksys WET-610 Bridge.

I use them for non-laser purposes, but they are fast, secure and reliable nonetheless.

I use VNC software and 2 computers, one at front of house, the other on stage. I then use the FOH computer to control the on stage system, to which the DAC(s) are connected. I've had very good luck with this method, but there is also the option of using a network USB hub like the Belkin f5l009, although for some reason my example doesn't play well with my wireless routers, I get these weird dropouts and my FB-3QS LED turns blue for an instant, then everything's back to normal. The dropouts are less than a second long.. annoying, and I'm not sure what the it means when an FB3-QS LED turns blue, it's not in the manual that I have. Haven't asked Bill yet, but I probably will soon.

Gotta be careful with wireless USB though, I'd make a guess that your random dropouts are due to the strict timing USB needs. I believe I read somewhere that USB must get a reply within 50ms of a ping, or it won't work properly. Some wireless devices can easily take longer than that, so your virtual USB connection would be dropping out all the time. You're better off just getting a big box/reel of cat5 cable and running that, much more reliable.

Yes if you use the VNC route, which I find to be very reliable. The only drawbacks are that VNC introduces a tiny lag (barely noticeable if your settings are right) and it's harder to use a MIDI controller since you have to connect the MIDI controller to the stage control PC rather than the front of house PC. In my case I've been using my network USB hub as a connection point for a MIDI controller so I can keep it with me in my booth and it remains connected wirelessly to the stage PC.

This is what I use....

Works fine, but does the thing EF was talking about....it will blink off for less than a second then come back....I upgraded the router to the one seen in that pic and it all but eliminated that problem...but that is a expensive router.

The laser sends out a wireless network.....any laptop with pangolin installed can connect to that wireless network and control the lasers. I also have lightjockey running a DMX LED wall wirelessly through the laser.

Or just use cat5 cable and some adapters. Much, much, much cheaper than DB25 cable, not to mention easier to get & run.

Doesn't need to be converted to a digital signal, the idea is you don't have to get a mega long DB25 cable, and cat5 is cheaper :)

Thats what I thought, you couldn't run it into a WAP, and make it wireless, because it isn't a digital signal
