Live time projected image????

I have a friend doing a musical production that wants to put together "a live time holographic face in a bubble" .... I have no idea if this is remotely possible but I thought I'd give it a shot. He is in Austin Texas and travels to Houston. He is willing to pay for the service of course.

Please let me know if anyone is able to do this or give advise on this

you could do laser projection on a scrim. that would cause your image to appear to float in the air.

as for a face in a bubble, you can use lasercam to do real time video to laser conversion (from a video camera or microsoft kinect) and then feed that output to your laser projector. that way your face will be live time and can react/speak/whatever.

yes. i can do this. i have plenty of experience doing video to laser.

here's a laser show that i used lasercam with:



oh, and i did the video to laser conversion for the Beyonce University of Michigan Marching Band Halftime Show (the dancer animation at 3:54 in the video).

that was a pepper's ghost illusion. video projector on a reflective scrim. it's a very nice effect, but i wish they would stop calling it a hologram.
